The BAI3 gene is a seven-span transmembrane protein that inhibits brain angiogenesis and is thought to be part of the secretin receptor family.BAI3 is a brain-specific angiogenesis protein that is structurally similar to BAI1 and BAI2, as well as having similar tissue specificities, may also play a role in angiogenesis.
