APOBEC4belongs to the AID/APOBEC family of polynucleotide (deoxy)cytidine deaminases, which convert cytidine to uridine. Further AID/APOBEC family members areimplicated in Mrna editing, somatic hypermutation and recombination ofimmunoglobulin genes, and innate immunity to retroviral infection. Among thediseases associated with APOBEC4 are systemic lupus erythematosus, and lupuserythematosus.
APOBEC4 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 390 amino acids (1-367aa) and having a molecular mass of 44kDa.APOBEC4 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | APOBEC4: Putative C to U editing enzyme whose physiological substrate is not yet known. Belongs to the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase family.Protein type: Hydrolase; EC 3.5.4.-Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q25.3 |
