Amphiregulin (AREG) is a single-pass membrane protein with 252 amino acids and belongs to the amphiregulin family, which includes 1 EGF-like domain. AREG is expressed in the ovary, placenta, lung, kidney, stomach, colon, and breast. AREG is related to Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) and Transforming Growth Factor Alpha (TGF-alpha). AREG binds to the EGF/TGF-alpha receptor, which regulates healthy epithelial cell development and inhibits the growth of cancer cell lines. AREG may also play a protective role in Bleomycin-Induced Pneumopathy. Human Amphiregulin/AREG Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
