![]() | Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with PACO62627 at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L). |
| Background: | May play a role in regulating lymphocyte apoptosis (By similarity). Exhibits intrisinic GTPase activity. Shows a higher affinity for GDP over GTP (about 12-fold higher), and binding shows an absolute requirement for magnesium. |
| Synonyms: | GTPase IMAP family member 4 (Immunity-associated nucleotide 1 protein) (IAN-1) (hIAN1) (Immunity-associated protein 4), GIMAP4, IAN1 IMAP4 |
| UniProt Protein Function: | GIMAP4: May play a role in regulating lymphocyte apoptosis. Exhibits intrisinic GTPase activity. Shows a higher affinity for GDP over GTP (about 12-fold higher), and binding shows an absolute requirement for magnesium. Belongs to the IAN GTP-binding protein family.Protein type: HydrolaseChromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q36.1Cellular Component: cytosolMolecular Function: GTP binding |
| UniProt Protein Details: | |
| NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a protein belonging to the GTP-binding superfamily and to the immuno-associated nucleotide (IAN) subfamily of nucleotide-binding proteins. The encoded protein of this gene may be negatively regulated by T-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia 1 (TAL1). In humans, the IAN subfamily genes are located in a cluster at 7q36.1.
