![]() | Western Blot. Positive WB detected in: 293T whole cell lysate. All lanes: GBP4 antibody at 2.6µg/ml. Secondary. Goat polyclonal to rabbit IgG at 1/50000 dilution. Predicted band size: 74 kDa. Observed band size: 74 kDa. |
![]() | IHC image of PACO57396 diluted at 1:800 and staining in paraffin-embedded human small intestine tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |

Background: | Binds GTP, GDP and GMP. Hydrolyzes GTP very efficiently; GDP rather than GMP is the major reaction product. Plays a role in erythroid differentiation (By similarity). |
Synonyms: | Guanylate-binding protein 4 (EC 3.6.5) (GTP-binding protein 4) (GBP-4) (Guanine nucleotide-binding protein 4), GBP4 |
UniProt Protein Function: | GBP4: Binds GTP, GDP and GMP. Hydrolyzes GTP very efficiently; GDP rather than GMP is the major reaction product. Plays a role in erythroid differentiation. Belongs to the GBP family. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Cell adhesion; Hydrolase; Vesicle Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p22.2 Cellular Component: Golgi membrane; nucleus; perinuclear region of cytoplasm Molecular Function:GTP binding; GTPase activity Biological Process: metabolic process |
NCBI Summary: | Guanylate-binding proteins, such as GBP4, are induced by interferon and hydrolyze GTP to both GDP and GMP (Vestal, 2005 [PubMed 16108726]).[supplied by OMIM, Dec 2008] |
