Galectin-3 Recombinant Protein

Leukotriene A-4 hydrolase; also known as LTA-4 hydrolase; Leukotriene A (4) hydrolase; LTA4H and LTA4; is cytoplasm protein which belongs to the peptidase M1 family. The epoxide of leukotriene A4 is hydrolyzed to form leukotriene B4 by LTA4H. This enzyme also has some peptidase activity. Leukotrienes (LTs) are a group of structurally related lipid mediators that play a role in the development and perpetuation of inflammatory and allergic reactions. Arachidonic acid is converted into the unstable intermediate epoxide LTA4; which may be conjugated with glutathione to form spasmogenic LTC4; or hydrolyzed into proinflammatory lipid mediator LTB4 in a reaction controlled by Leukotriene A4 hydrolase (LTA4H). LTB4 is a neutrophil chemoattractant (classic attractant) and induces adherence and aggregation of leukocytes to vascular endothelium, as well as immune responses. LTA4H also has an ion-dependent arginyl aminopeptidase activity that is highly efficient and specific, in addition to its epoxide hydrolase activity. LTA4H is regarded as a therapeutic target for inflammation. Galectin-3 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
