![]() | Western Blot. Positive WB detected in: U251 whole cell lysate. All lanes: FEZF1 antibody at 6µg/ml. Secondary. Goat polyclonal to rabbit IgG at 1/50000 dilution. Predicted band size: 53, 47, 52 kDa. Observed band size: 53 kDa. |
![]() | IHC image of PACO60701 diluted at 1:400 and staining in paraffin-embedded human brain tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |
Background: | Transcription repressor. Involved in the axonal projection and proper termination of olfactory sensory neurons (OSN). Plays a role in rostro-caudal patterning of the diencephalon and in prethalamic formation. Expression is required in OSN to cell-autonomously regulate OSN axon projections. Regulates non-cell-autonomously the layer formation of the olfactory bulb development and the interneurons. May be required for correct rostral migration of the interneuron progenitors (By similarity). |
Synonyms: | Fez family zinc finger protein 1 (Zinc finger protein 312B), FEZF1, FEZ ZNF312B |

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a transcriptional repressor that belongs to the zinc finger double domain protein family. The encoded protein is thought to play a role in the embryonic migration of gonadotropin-releasing hormone neurons into the brain. Mutations in this gene are associated with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism-22 with anosmia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014] |
