![]() | IHC image of PACO59189 diluted at 1:600 and staining in paraffin-embedded human lung tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |

Background: | Probable calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein that may play a role in calcium-mediated intracellular processes. |
Synonyms: | Copine-8 (Copine VIII), CPNE8 |
UniProt Protein Function: | CPNE8: a member of the copine protein family with calcium-dependent phospholipid binding properties. Copines are ubiquitously expressed, phospholipid-binding proteins that have been conserved through evolution. Highest expression of CPNE8 mRNA is seen in the prostate, heart, and brain. Fusion to AML1 in a t(12;21) translocation causes aggressive acute myelogenous leukemia. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.Protein type: Unknown functionChromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q12 |

NCBI Summary: | Calcium-dependent membrane-binding proteins may regulate molecular events at the interface of the cell membrane and cytoplasm. This gene is one of several genes that encode a calcium-dependent protein containing two N-terminal type II C2 domains and an integrin A domain-like sequence in the C-terminus.
