CAs (carbonic anhydrases) are zinc metalloenzymes that catalyse the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They assist with respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humour, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They exhibit a broad range of tissue dispersion and subcellular localization. It is predicted that the CA XIV protein will be a type I membrane protein with the greatest sequence overlap with other transmembrane CA isoforms. Renal tubular acidosis and 3-Methylglutaconic Aciduria, Type Vii are all diseases linked to Carbonic anhydrase 14/CA14. Carbonic anhydrase 14/CA14 is involved in two different processes: reversible carbon dioxide hydration and metabolism.Carbonic Anhydrase 14/CA14 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
