![]() | IHC image of PACO61374 diluted at 1:400 and staining in paraffin-embedded human pancreatic cancer performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |

UniProt Protein Function: | ARHGEF6: Acts as a RAC1 guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF). Interacts with PAK kinases through the SH3 domain. Interacts with GIT1. Component of cytoplasmic complexes, which also contain PXN, GIT1 and PAK1. Ubiquitous. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.Protein type: GEFs; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; GEFs, Rac/RhoChromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq26.3Cellular Component: cytosol; intracellular; lamellipodiumMolecular Function: guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity; protein binding; Rho guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activityBiological Process: lamellipodium biogenesis; positive regulation of apoptosis; regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transductionDisease: Mental Retardation, X-linked 46 |
UniProt Protein Details: | |
NCBI Summary: | Rho GTPases play a fundamental role in numerous cellular processes that are initiated by extracellular stimuli that work through G protein coupled receptors. The encoded protein belongs to a family of cytoplasmic proteins that activate the Ras-like family of Rho proteins by exchanging bound GDP for GTP. It may form a complex with G proteins and stimulate Rho-dependent signals. This protein is activated by PI3-kinase. Mutations in this gene can cause X-chromosomal non-specific mental retardation.
