Description
ANXA5/Annexin A5 Recombinant Protein
Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase A (PPIase A/Rotamase A/Cyclophilin A/Cyclosporin A-binding protein/PPIA/CYPA) is a cytoplasm protein which belongs to the cyclophilin-type PPIase family and PPIase A subfamily. The Cyclophilins (CyPs) are a group of proteins present in prokaryotes, as well as humans. These compounds have peptidyl-prolyl isomerase activity, which indicates that they affect the structure of proteins in cells. Proteins are more readily folded if they contain PIPPA and / or Cyclophilin A. Proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides are isomerized via cis-trans isomerization as a result of this enzyme's activity. PPIA / Cyclophilin A is secreted by vascular smooth muscle cells in response to inflammatory stimuli; and could thus contribute to atherosclerosis. It is not essential for mammalian cell viability. Cytosolic cyclophilin A may bind to several HIV proteins, including p55 gag; Vpr; and capsid protein, and is required for the formation of infectious HIV virions. ANXA5/Annexin A5 Recombinant Protein is a highly pure recombinant protein developed by Assay Genie for use in a range of applications.
